I have six dogs, one cat, seven birds, three sheep, numerous bunnies, and a llama.
me, they are all ceramic. Sad, I know, for an animal lover. I get my "doggie fix" visiting or pet sitting my neighbors’
and friends' dogs. I adore llamas and never miss a chance to visit a llama farm. During a school pep rally, the staff was
invited to kiss a pig and yes, I did it. Mallard ducks Flapper and Quacker visit my dock often at Lake Mohawk.
why don't I have any pets? My son, daughter and husband have had allergy issues- - no pets in the home, doctor’s orders.
Despite this, we have enjoyed donating food, toys, bandanas and crafts to local animal shelters, watching animals in our yard
and when hiking or camping, and visiting petting zoos as a family. Growing up I had many cats and dogs, but my favorite was
an Old English Sheepdog, Sir Lancelot – “Lance” – and my children have heard many bedtime stories
about him. Lance’s picture ornament still hangs on our Christmas tree every year.
I am an empty
nester now, retired from a career in education, enjoying my bliss: animals, crafts, art, nature, water sports and boating
at Lake Mohawk.
A former co-worker who seemed to have a nickname for everyone at our school started calling
me Bunny, and the moniker stuck, much to my chagrin. But since people seem to forget my real name, I have come to embrace
it in some situations. So to my furry friends, I am Aunt Bunny. Corny, but easy to remember!
your pets and doing my very best to love and care for them like you do, I hope to become CPR pet certified and assist with
