I was born in Fayetteville, N.C. in 1983. My family and I made our way to NJ in 1993. Growing up,
my brothers and I would catch all kinds of critters. Snakes, turtles, frogs, the occasional chipmunk. We would take any injured
wildlife to my mom to fix so we could release our finds back into the wild. So started my love for animals and my dream to
work with them.
I have had the chance to work in different animal related jobs.
I managed a pet store and started a ferret rescue at the same time. After 19 ferrets I had to stop. I then found out about
guide dogs and The Seeing Eye and had to get a job there! I spent 4 years there and then went on to become a dog trainer at
a local pet store. That is where Jackie found me. I was working with my German Shepherd on my day off. Jackie saw my love
and passion for animals and told me to come work for her. So I did!
a few years loving and caring for so many great pets, crying when hearing about the loss of a beloved friend that made their
way to the rainbow bridge. I did end up going back into dog training. I spent 5 years as a professional in-home private dog
trainer. I was doing basic manners, tricks, agility and behavior modification. Due to my second child coming into the picture,
and needing back surgery right after giving birth, I had to leave the company I was with.
I ended up going to work as a vet tech. I started volunteering again with my mom and children at Antler Ridge
Wildlife Sactuary. There I get to help with the rescuing, rehabbing and releasing of wild animals. My kids get to help with
feeding barnyard animals and gathering chicken eggs.
Now I'm back
with Just Like You Do! Loving on all the furry, feather, scaled kids and I get to do dog training. Both things I love, all
in one place! (I still get to volunteer with the wildlife too!)
